Board President, Ronda Swenson
Mrs. Swenson and her family came to the Lake Forest School District from Texas, when her husband Steve was transferred to Dover AFB. She joined the Board in February of 2008. Her degree in mathematics and experience as a high school teacher allow her to view issues from a Board as well as an educator’s perspective. She is very active with various Lake Forest councils and also represents the District on the Legislative and Wellness Committees. Mrs. Swenson children both graduated from Lake Forest and continued their education at the University of Delaware. Mrs. Swenson is the Board Liaison to East Elementary School.

Board Vice President, James L. Rau
Mr. Rau, a lifelong resident of the district, is a 1993 Lake Forest graduate and has three daughters – Jenna, Emilee and Madison – who attend Lake Forest schools. A Wesley College honors graduate, Mr. Rau is employed by Parkowski, Guerke and Swayze, P.A. where he is the firm’s legal administrator. Mr. Rau is an active member of the community volunteering his time at various Lake Forest schools, as a youth soccer coach and with the Felton Community Fire Company where he is a 20-year member and has held various positions including Vice President and Director. Mr. Rau is the Board Parliamentarian as well as the Liaison to North Elementary School and W.T. Chipman Middle School.

Board Member, John A. Schulties
Mr. Schulties has served on the Board of Education since July 2000. Born and raised in Lake Forest District, he was a member of the third graduating class from Lake Forest High School, and has two sons who graduated from Lake Forest as well. His son, Michael, teaches in an inner city school in New Jersey, and Gregory works in Kent County as an EMT. Mr. Schulties’ background is in criminal justice and construction. After working in law enforcement, he owned his own construction business for 20 years. He currently works as a manager in the Kent County Inspection and Enforcement Division and was very involved in building the two newest schools in Lake Forest. Mr. Schulties is the Board Liaison to South Elementary School.

Board Member, Andrea M. Miller
Mrs. Miller and her husband have been residents of Harrington for over 25 years. She joined the Board in July 2014. Her professional experiences involve leading teams in developing curriculum, educating leaders and associates as well as supporting business transitions and company acquisitions. Now the President of her own consulting business, Mrs. Miller consults with fortune 500 companies around the globe. She has one daughter and is very active in the Lake Forest School District. She serves on numerous committees and partnered as a volunteer track coach of the W.T. Chipman Boys and Girls Track Team for several seasons. Mrs. Miller’s background as a Program Manager and global business consultant will allow her to view issues from all aspects, supporting resolution(s) when needed. Mrs. Miller is the Board Liaison to Lake Forest High School, DECC and the Central Business Office.

Board Member, Mr. Earle Dempsey
Mr. Dempsey is a 1990 graduate of Lake Forest who has four children attending Lake Forest schools. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Salisbury University and an MBA from Delaware State University. Mr. Dempsey is employed by the State of Delaware’s Department of Technology and Information and works with school districts and charter schools statewide, while also serving as an adjunct professor for the Delaware State and Wilmington Universities. He actively volunteers throughout the community and state in various leadership roles, including with the Felton Little League, the Delaware Volunteer Fire Service, and non-profit boards including Easter Seals and The Shepherd Place. He is also a member of several State boards and commissions including the DE STEM Council and the Supreme Court’s Board on Professional Responsibility. Mr. Dempsey is the Board Liaison to Central Elementary School and serves on the ECAP Policy Council.
