DECC offers these programs and services for preschoolers throughout the state:
- Birth to Three Early Intervention Services - provides services from birth to three years for children with developmental delays and their families.
- Early Childhood Assistance (ECAP) - provides comprehensive preschool programs for 2, 3, and 4 year olds whose families are low income.
- Early Choices - offers special education and related services for three and four year old children with develomental delays or disabilities.
- English Language Learners - focuses on learning English language skills for children, from birth to seven years old, who are learning English, and their families.
- Even Start/English Language Learners (ELL) - offers family literacy services, adult education and parenting for children, birth to eight years old, and their families.
- Head Start/ECP Outcomes - evaluates annyally the progress of children and their families in Head Start and ECAP programs statewide.
- New Directions Early Head Start - provides home, community and center-based services for pregnant women and families of children, from birth to three years old.
- Parents as Teachers (PAT) - provides parenting education for parents of first born children, including newborns to three years of age.
- Relationships Empowering Learning and Affirming Teaching Excellent (RELATE) - offers professional development for directors and teachers caring for infants and toddlers.
- Training and Technical assistance - provides staff development for DECC teachers and other staff personnel working with young children and their families.
