Month: March 2020
The Lake Forest School District believes it essential to provide academic resources and learning opportunities to our families during this time of closure. The above link will take you to these learning opportunities and academic resources. There will be two types of opportunities offered. The first are online programs that your child may access to practice skills. They will access the majority of these online programs through their Clever account. There are directions and a how to video on the site explaining how your child may access their Clever account. Your child will be familiar with many of these programs as they use them on a regular basis in school.
The other type of resource that will be provided are activity packets. These activity packets are considered a review of material learned throughout the 2019-2020 school year. Students can work at their own pace and receive support from family members. This work will not be graded.
We do realize that some of our students do not have computers or internet service to access these resources and activities. We are currently working on a plan to print out the activity packets and get them in the hands of our students. Further communication will be forthcoming about how these activity packets will be distributed for those that require paper copies.
Thank you for your continued support as we work to provide our students the best possible educational resources during this time of closure.

First, we would like to reassure everyone that we will continue to provide grab and go meal service to the communities and locations announced last week. This schedule can also be found on our Facebook and website pages. Thank you to our Child Nutrition Services and staff & community volunteers who have worked hard to maintain this program for our community. While we are committed to providing this resource to our families, we will be reevaluating how meals are distributed and any changes will be communicated at the end of the week.
We also would like to reassure our community that we are working diligently to finalize learning opportunities and resources plans. With the announcement of extended school closure beyond this week, our priority becomes providing students with resources that help promote the enrichment of content students have learned in school so far this year. As changes develop, we will provide updates. Please continue to take care of yourself and one another and show the strength of the Lake Forest Community!
