Have you ever wondered what your child should be doing developmentally? Would you like to know how to help your child reach their maximum potential? Are you looking for potty training or weaning ideas or recommended books? Maybe you have a specific developmental concern

or just want to go the extra step with your child. Parents as Teachers is here for you! Every child is born to learn and all children should learn, grow and develop to their full potential. That’s the vision of Parents as Teachers, a parenting education and family support program for all parents of children prenatal to kindergarten entry.

Funded by Department of Education, PAT is a free voluntary program serving over 130 families throughout Kent and Sussex County. Home visitors in partnership with the family focus on fostering strong, loving relationships between parents and their children. Your home visitor provides you with the information, support and encouragement to help your children develop during those crucial early years through:

  • Home visits
  • Annual Developmental and Health Screenings
  • Stay and Play groups (follow links below)
  • Referrals to other community resources
  • Teen Groups in local High schools and in partnership with DAPI
  • Evening and weekend socialization opportunities throughout the year
  • Access to a $tand By Me financial coach

How do you enroll?   Simply call 302-398-8945 ext: 117, or email cmhoeflicholley@lf.k12.de.us.  Referrals may also be faxed to our office at 302-398-8983 (click her for provider REFERRAL 2016).  All information is confidential.
