October 9

Good evening, parents, guardians and 9th grade students. This is LFHS with an important update. Earlier today, you received a message explaining the 9th grade return to school plan. We would like to also offer you an opportunity to ask questions you may have about this plan. Answers to these questions will be addressed during a freshman parent/guardian meeting on Wednesday, October 14. This meeting will begin at 7PM and occur via Zoom. We will send another message on Tuesday with the Zoom link. You may click on the attachment associated with the text and email of this message to submit your questions. Freshman Return to School Form

October 4

Good evening, Lake Forest High School families. We have a few announcements for you today. First, interim reports will be available on Tuesday and may be found in Home Access Center. Paper copies will not be mailed home. Please take this opportunity to review academic progress with your child. Due to the change to semester-based classes, final course grades will be determined after two marking periods, so it is important to start strong. In addition, there is a state-wide concern involving Schoology and HAC. The two systems are not communicating properly and this has resulted in grades not being visible in HAC. Please know the interim grade is the current numerical grade. DOE is working on remedying this concern.

Second, LFHS is now a food distribution center. CNS workers will be on site on Thursdays from 3:45-6PM distributing free meals for all who are 18 and under. Third, if you are scheduled in Process of Digital Design or Music Production, you have either communicated with Mr. Patterson or received a Schoology message from Mrs. Filiou about bringing your computer to the main office on Thursday anytime before 6:30PM. The IT department will load the necessary program onto your computer and you may pick it up 7:30AM-4PM on Monday. Finally, Friday, October 9 is a scheduled professional development day, and there is no school for students. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your day.

September 30

Good afternoon, Lake Forest High School! We have a few short reminders for you today. First, there is a senior parent and student Zoom meeting tonight, at 6PM. The link to the meeting was posted in the Class of 2021 Schoology Group. All seniors have access to this group and can click on the link directly from the message in Schoology. Second, tomorrow, Thursday, we have a materials distribution event for students who are currently enrolled in Physical Science and Foundations of College Math. You may come to the main office anytime between 8AM-6:30PM to pick up your instructional materials. Finally, this is the last opportunity for freshman parents to complete the return to school survey for their incoming 9th graders. You may click on the hyperlink associated with this message. Thank you for listening. Enjoy the rest of your day.
