Lake Goes Purple!

In coordination with Lt. Governor Bethany Hall Long and Project Purple in Kent and Sussex Counties, Lake will go PURPLE next week to Stand Up Against Substance Abuse!  Wear purple all week!

Did you know Delaware has the third highest per capita health care costs in the nation from opioid abuse and more Delawareans die from overdose than motor vehicle or gun-related accidents.  “One of the greatest challenges for people seeking help and in active recovery is the stigma surrounding their addiction. Those struggling should know that their disease in not one that they should be ashamed of, or keep hidden. PROJECT  PURPLE empowers the community to stand up to erase the stigma and to support individuals who need it the most.” — LT GOVERNOR BETHANY HALL LONG  https://www.delawaregoespurple.org/  Click HERE to view the attachment to see former NBA Player, Chris Herren, share his story from addiction and loss, to recovery and hope in Georgetown on September 11th.

We hope that you will wear purple next week to support this cause and Stand up to Substance Abuse!
