Mr. Selg grew up and lived in New Jersey, just outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania until recently moving to Delaware. He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in May of 2011 with a B.A. in History and an M.A. in Secondary Education. After graduating from FDU, Mr. Selg worked for a private school in South Philadelphia as both a teacher and an administrator. In the summer of 2017, he decided to join the Lake Forest family as a History teacher at Lake Forest High School. He is married to his wife, Maryelizabeth (who is also a teacher), and they have one daughter who also attends school in the Lake Forest School District. In his spare time, Mr. Selg enjoys spending time with his family and friends as well as play golf whenever possible.  Mr. Selg’s advice to his students, “Do not allow the fear of failure prevent you from trying your best.” Like Wayne Gretzky said, “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
