Mrs. Ferebee was born and raised in Long Island, New York to a large immigrant family from Antigua, W.I. Surrounded by a diverse community, Mrs. Ferebee began her love and appreciation for learning about other cultures. She was first introduced to the Spanish language by her mother who had spent time living in Puerto Rico. Mrs. Ferebee continued her studies of Spanish as her major at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. At the age of 25, she made the move to Atlanta, GA to begin her teaching career as a Spanish and ELL teacher where she remained for the next 11 years.
In 2014, Mrs. Ferebee took a break from teaching to marry Joel Ferebee of Bear, DE and relocate to Denton, MD. After having a son in 2016, she returned to teaching and joined the Lake Forest family in December, 2017. Mrs. Ferebee has enjoyed becoming a Spartan and encourages all students to travel and learn all they can about the world!
