Mike Boyd

ELA Department chair, Honors Program chairperson; Teach Honors ELA II, ELA IV, and AP English Literature

Mr. Boyd grew up in the small town of Beaver, PA, about 30 miles north of Pittsburgh.  After graduating from Penn State University in December of 1985, he started teaching at WT Chipman, and has been at LFHS since January of 1986.  Mr. Boyd is married (Martha) and has one son, Stephen, a Junior at LFHS this year.  The Boyds live in Dover, but have happily used “school choice” to send their son to LFHS, “Their Best Choice.”  Mr. Boyd is an avid reader of everything, but he still loves comic books and has quite a collection.  He was honored to speak at the Dover Comic-Con last summer!  He still loves all the Pittsburgh sports teams, particularly his beloved Pirates.  His advice to all of his students is to always TRY.  He proudly claims to have never failed a student who tried, and he never will.
