Mr. Vansant was born in Milford DE, but also lived in Seaford DE, Lebanon PA, and Rochester NY before finally moving back to Milford and attending Lake Forest High School.  After graduating from LFHS, he attended the University of Delaware.  Upon graduation, Mr. Vansant started his first career and spent 10 years as an Aquatic Director then Senior Program Director for the YMCA.   Mr. Vansant went back to school and acquired his Masters in Education from Wilmington University.  Mr. Vansant came back “home” for 5 years as a 2nd grade teacher at Lake Forest East Elem.  Mr. Vansant’s is now in his first year at the high school.

Mr. Vansant is married (Becky) and has a sixth grader (Carter) and third grader (Garrett).  The Vansant’s live in Milton and enjoy spending time at the beach, hiking, and staying active.  Outside of school, Mr. Vansant has two other jobs.  Throughout most of the year, he is the National Team Swim Coach at the Sussex Family YMCA, and in the summers, a beach Lifeguard at Cape Henlopen State Park.  He is quite proud of his coaching accomplishments, which consists of 5 National Finalists, and over 10 state champions, including last years Girls 200 Free Relay State Champions and the current Boys 200 Free Relay State Record Holders.

He enjoys pushing his students academically to see similar success in the classroom, and always strives to motivate them toward academic growth.
