Born-and-raised in Northeast Pennsylvania, I attended Wilkes University and earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Business Administration, while playing baseball for the Colonels. During and after college, I worked at a local, daily newspaper as a sports writer, covering high school and college sports, including football, baseball, soccer, and wrestling. Prior to teaching, I also worked in sales and marketing at a defense contractor (Maryland) making spy planes and a brewery (Pennsylvania) making beer and soda.
I have been married for 11 years to my wife, Amy, who is a teacher at Central Elementary, and we have three wonderful kids – Cole, Ava, and Lincoln. At Lake Forest, I have been the scorekeeper for the wrestling team for ten years, coached varsity soccer for one year, varsity baseball for two years, and JV baseball for four years. Currently, I am the chairperson for the Career and Technical Education (CTE) department and advisor for Business Professionals of America (BPA). Outside of school, I am an avid reader of multiple genres and enjoy trilogies, while rooting for the Boston Red Sox and Green Bay Packers. And being from PA, I will always root for Penn State. In addition to reading and sports, Star Wars is a very popular theme in our house, and we anxiously await the new movies being released over the next few years; until then, we will make due with an extensive SW Lego collection. Finally, when the zombie apocalypse comes, I will follow Rick Grimes at all costs.
One piece of advice I have is to put forth your best effort, no matter what. We all have times we don’t want to do something, but we all need to suck it up. There is no excuse to not put forth your very best at whatever you do. Like the Foo Fighters sing, “Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?”
