Honors English I, English III, SAT Prep, Del Tech Adjunct Professor
Mrs. Villa grew up on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and spent most of her childhood near the water kayaking and wading the shorelines. She graduated from James Madison University with a B.A. in English and double-minor in Writing & Rhetoric and Women’s Studies. While attending JMU, Mrs. Villa played trombone in the marching band—she has also played piano since she was a child. Looking for a change after graduation, she joined Americorps and worked at a women’s center in Baltimore, MD for one year. After this year of service, Mrs. Villa taught at a middle school in the city before venturing to Delaware. She has taught a plethora of classes and levels at LFHS and is currently working towards a Masters in Instruction through Wilmington University. When she’s not working, Mrs. Villa spends time with her daughter, Lyric, who is 5 years old. The two enjoy nature trails, jumping waves at the beach, and creating art projects. Additional hobbies of interest include gardening, reading, crafts, and music. If asked to give one piece of advice to students, she would say to be kind to others; much like a novel, you cannot read one page and know the whole story.
