Mrs. Johnson is a National Board Certified Library Media Specialist and has twenty years of experience teaching information literacy skills to students from pre-K through college in a library setting. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland and a master’s in Information Resources & Library Science from the University of Arizona.  She is currently enrolled at Drexel University for a post-graduate certificate in Informatics and Data Visualization. She is married to Kirk Johnson, a Professor of Economics at Goldey-Beacom College. They have two children; Cannon, an Analytical Chemistry Ph-D student at the University of Auckland, and Olivia, a Doctor of Audiology student at East Carolina University.  Her dog, Scarlett, is a frequent guest lecturer in Zoom sessions.  

Mrs. Johnson believes that the school Library Media Center belongs to you – the students, faculty, staff, and families of Lake Forest School District. “As its caretaker, it is my job to make sure you feel welcomed and valued by curating a library collection that represents the diversity of our community.”
