Mrs. Slayton grew up in North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After graduating from high school, she attended Delaware State University for her freshman year. She then transferred to Temple University (Cherry and White!), where she graduated with a Bachelors in Psychology and minor in cognitive neuroscience. Mrs. Slayton has been with the Lake Forest family since 2015, in which she worked as a parent educator at DECC (little Spartans). She counts it an honor to have advocated and helped families work towards their goals. Going forward, Mrs. Slayton is excited about her new chapter at LFHS with students and staff (Spartan pride!). She is the wife of an amazing husband and 3 wonderful girls (8 mo., 4, and 9). Her interest and hobbies include, but not limited to family game night, singing, traveling, volunteering, animals, and listening to soundscapes. Her advice to both parents and students is to take advantage of positive resources that are available to you. Resources available in her community were safe haven’s from the many issues that surrounded her and her family. There are no excuses! you have to make it happen!
