Students should check Schoology frequently for upcoming events and volunteer opportunities.

National Honor Society Membership in the Lake Forest High School Chapter of the National Honor Society is an honor bestowed upon a student at an induction ceremony. Selection for membership is by a Faculty Council and is based on outstanding scholarship, character, leadership, and having completed the 20 hours of service learning required. Once selected, members have the responsibility to continue to demonstrate these qualities. Juniors and Seniors (with a GPA of 90 or higher (not rounded)) are academically eligible for consideration. Students who meet the academic and disciplinary criteria will be informed and asked to submit evidence of Service, Leadership, and Character that the Faculty Council then considers. A majority vote to approve the application by the Faculty Council earns a student an invitation to join NHS. An NHS member who transfers from another school and brings a letter from the former principal or chapter advisor shall be accepted automatically as a member of the new school’s chapter. Transfer members must meet the new chapter’s standards within one semester to retain membership.

NHS meetings will be the last Thursday of the month and begin at 2:35.
