Principal’s Message

Dear Lake Forest South Families,

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! I’m incredibly excited and truly honored to begin this year as the Principal of Lake Forest South Elementary School. As both a Lake Forest graduate and a former South student, this school means the world to me and I couldn’t be more proud to serve this community.

This is my 12th year in the Lake Forest School District. I started my career as a paraprofessional right here at South, then went on to teach Kindergarten at Lake Forest North. For the past four years, I’ve had the privilege of serving as the Assistant Principal at South, and I’m excited to now continue this journey as principal.

Every step along the way has deepened my passion for education and strengthened my commitment to making sure every child feels supported and empowered to succeed. I’m committed to fostering a positive, inclusive school culture and to working closely with our staff, families, and community to ensure a great year for all.

This year, we’ll continue to focus on our school-wide affirmation, which helps guide our expectations and shape our school culture. At South, we encourage all of our students to stay on TRACK by:

  • Trying Their Best

  • Respecting Others

  • Acting Responsibly

  • Controlling Themselves

  • Kindness Toward Others

These values are at the heart of who we are, and you’ll see them woven into everything we do; from classroom routines to school-wide events.

I can’t wait to welcome our students back and kick off what’s sure to be an incredible year! My door is always open, and I value your thoughts, questions, and ideas as we move through the year together. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at sarah.huber@lf.k12.de.us or by phone at (302) 398-8011 ext. 603.

Here’s to a great year at South—where we stay on TRACK and grow together!

Warmly,
Sarah Huber, Ed.D.
Principal
