On December 10, 2014 at the White House Summit on Early Education, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, announced funding that will help the state expand on efforts announced earlier this year to make infant care a special priority, recognizing the importance of helping top early childhood programs subsidize the high cost of this work and provide more opportunities for low-income children.

In the spring of 2014, the Lake Forest School District retained BATTA Environmental Associates, Inc. to investigate the recent occurrences of reported cancer cases within East Elementary School. The report concludes that in the absence of any abnormalities or any additional information, further investigation is unlikely to be beneficial. W.T. Chipman Middle School hosted a Toys for Tots Charity Flag Football game on November 29, 2014.
Chipman Staff members played the City of Harrington Police and Fire Departments in a Flag Football Contest to raise toys for the Toys for Tots Foundation. The event was a huge success with many toys brought in for our area children. W.T. Chipman won the game 54-20 and took home the trophy.
Best Wishes to Dee Little (Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent) and Pam Tatman (Benefits Financial Secretary). After many years of dedicated service to the Lake Forest School District and the State of Delaware, we hope they enjoy this much deserved time of relaxation.
