It is not every day that WBOC comes to interview one of your students. Congratulations to our Chapter President Kailyn Pippin on receiving the Mountaire Farm to Table Scholarship worth $2,000 and is now in the running for an additional $5,000. Today Zach Evans came and interviewed Kailyn and a couple of the ag teachers. Tune into the news and Outdoors Delmarva this coming weekend to see her outstanding interview.

The EdRising Chapter here at LFHS is proud to announce that at our State Conference held at the University of Delaware this week, two of our members, Michaelah Riggins and Pierina Algarra-Ramos were elected to serve at the 2024-25 Delaware EdRising State Representatives.
In addition, Caley Murphy, Sophia Kemp, and Kayden Shockley were medal recipients in each of their respective events. Congratulations to all!

Congratulations to Emma Fair, Julia Novack, and Gabriella Layne on a fantastic performance this past weekend! All three students were selected to perform with the Kent County Honor Band along with 90 other high school students from Kent County. After two days of rehearsal, the weekend finished with a beautiful concert under the direction of Dr. Mark McCoy from West Virginia University. Way to go Spartans!

Congratulations to Gabriella Layne on an awesome performance this past weekend with the Delaware All-State Jazz Ensemble. Gabby was 1 of 21 students who passed the audition process and gained acceptance into the group. After spending two days rehearsing in Wilmington, the students put on a spectacular concert with guest conductor Mike Tomaro. The concert featured many of his arrangements and Gabby was able to perform a solo on one of the selections! Way to go, Gabby!
