Welcome Back WT Chipman family,
We are excited for the coming year! We look forward to building lasting relationships between parents and our school in order to meet our district mission, which is to provide a safe, collaborative and inclusive learning environment that prepares life-long learners to become college and career ready.
The Lake Forest School District and W.T. Chipman Middle School will be operating on full day, in-person learning for the school year. Beginning August 16th, we will be requiring a mask for all staff and students, no matter your vaccination status, while in the building. This guidance comes from the Governor and will be followed until further information comes out.
Our first official event for the school year is our TRANSITION DAY on Friday August 27th from 7:15am to 10:30am. This is for our 6th graders ONLY. There will be a MEET and GREET, for our 7th and 8th graders ONLY, from 12:30 to 2:30pm on Friday, August 27th. This is the time to tour the building and meet your teachers.
The official start of the 2021-2022 school year begins August 30th at 7:15am. Breakfast will be available each day, at no cost to the students. Students are expected to report to their first period class as soon as possible. The student day ends at 2:30pm. Student drop-off and pick-up is at the half circle at the front of the building.
There are a number of new things going on this year at WT Chipman Middle School. We will be moving towards 1:1 computers for all of our students, new technology in our classrooms, and added Social Emotional Learning time for our students. We look forward to meeting you at the beginning of the year.
