September 18th-29th are Unit Count. This is an annual process required of the Department of Education that requires all schools to scrutinize attendance, as it is attached to school funding. We encourage all students to attend school every day, and ask that if you must be absent in the next two weeks, you follow the procedure of submitting an absence note, preferably by a doctor, to the attendance office within 48 hours of the absence. Notes may also be sent to the attendance email, LFHS_Attendance@lf.k12.de.us.

Good evening, Lake Forest High School Families! This Thursday, August 31st, we welcome all 9th grade students for Transition Day. The purpose of Transition Day is for students to get to know the school, staff, and overall atmosphere of LFHS. Students will receive their schedules, rotate through classes, and meet teachers. Doors will open at 7:20am and students will be dismissed at 10:30am. Students will enter the building in two ways. Car riders and walkers will enter through the front of the building, using the first hallway (World Language). Bus riders will enter from the bus lot doors. All staff will be in their assigned duty areas, and available to greet and assist students. Although not required, we encourage all 9th grade students to attend Transition Day. This is the only opportunity prior to the first day of school, Tuesday, September 5, for students to enter the building. Thank you and we look forward to meeting the class of 2027 on Thursday!
