Kindergarten enrollment only will remain open until the first day of the 2024-2025 School Year.

The Lake Forest School District will notify parents/guardians by February 28, 2024, as to the status of student application(s) submitted by the January 10, 2024 closing date. All information is listed below, as well as some informational links.

The application will be considered incomplete if the application, supplemental forms and proof of residency are not submitted. The student must be registered in their home district if they are not currently attending a Lake Forest School or registered in a Delaware public school. Acceptable proof of residency is a current mortgage statement, lease or rental agreement with parent/guardian’s name and address on it, or current electric, gas, oil, propane, water or sewer bill with the parent/guardian’s name and address on it.

• School Choice is offered based on school capacity.

• Transportation is not provided.

If you wish to terminate your school choice for the upcoming year, please you must complete the Choice Termination Form (Formulario de terminación de elección de escuela)

School Choice remains open until the first day of 2024-2025 school year. However, parents/guardians are encouraged to submit school choice applications no later than July 15, 2024, to allow for sufficient processing time.

• Students who live outside the Lake Forest School District will need to pre-register at their home district.

• Students must be 5 years old before August 31 of the respective year.

• Kindergarten waitlist decisions are considered in July and August.

• Transportation is not provided.

Any kindergarten application will be considered incomplete if the application, supplemental form, birth certificate, and proof of residency are not submitted with the application and the student is not pre-registered at his home school.  Acceptable proof of residency is a current mortgage statement, lease or rental agreement with the parent/guardian’s name and address on it, or current electric, gas, oil, propane, water or sewer bill with the parent/guardian’s name and address on it.
