Students looking to tryout for winter sports if you have not done so already make sure you submit your completed physical to Nurse Glanden prior to tryouts. The first marking period is rapidly coming to an end and will end on November 2nd. Please take a moment to review Home Access Center to ensure all assignment are complete and submitted prior to the end of the marking period. Nurse Glanden will be conducting health screenings for our students. This week will be 7th grade vision and hearing screenings. This week will be having Spirit Week in honor of homecoming, Monday will be “Twin Day,” Tuesday will be “80’s Day”, Wednesday will be “Luau/Hawaiian Shirt Day”, and Thursday will be “Class Color” 8th grade- navy, 7th grade- gray, and 6th grade- white. There will be no school on Friday, October 14th for students, as it is a statewide professional development day. The homecoming parade will be Friday at 6:00pm in Harrington. On Thursday, October 6th Mr. Butler and the Chipman chapter of FFA will hold its monthly meeting from 2:30 to 3:15pm. It is Ms. Wright with a reminder that on tomorrow Thursday, September 15th Chipman will be having our Open House from 5:00-6:30pm. Seventh and Eighth grade parents will enter the building through the front entrance and sixth grade parents will enter the building through the outdoor café entrance. Parents will obtain their student’s schedule as they enter the building and report to homeroom and will follow their student’s “A” day schedule. Open House will begin with an official welcome from the administration of W.T. Chipman via Chipman Live and each block will be approximately fifteen minutes in length.

On Thursday, September 15th Mr. Butler will be having the first FFA meeting of the year from 2:30-3:15pm and Chipman will have our Open House from 5:00-6:30pm. It is Ms. Wright with the highlights for the week of September 5th. There will be no school on Monday, September 5th in observance of Labor Day. It is finally here the first day of school and the Chipman staff and administration are excited to welcome students back into the building on Tuesday, September 6th. We are looking forward to a great year and have many events planned for our students. Parents we encourage you to reach out to the appropriate staff member if you have any questions or concerns as we go throughout the school year. Fall sports are in full swing and cheerleading will be holding tryouts this week afterschool please check our sports website (chipmanmiddlesports.com) for more information on the time and location of tryouts. On Wednesday, September 7th our PTSO will be having a fundraiser at Chipotle in Camden from 4:00-8:00pm please see the attached flyer for more information. It is Ms. Wright with the first official all-call of the 2022-23 school year. As we prepare for our first day of school, we have plenty of events happening this week. Monday, August 29th will be the first day of tryouts/practice for our Fall sport teams. Students must have an up-to-date physical on file dated after April 1st to be eligible to participate. Please check out Chipman Middle Sports website for more information on practice times and locations. On Wednesday, August 31st from 4:00pm-6:00pm Chipman will be having a welcome back barbeque for sixth grade students. Families needed to preregister to attend this event. On Thursday, September 1st we will have our transition day for sixth grade students this is a half-day of school for students. We will also have our meet and greet for seventh and eighth grade students Thursday afternoon from 12:30pm-2:30pm. Schools will be closed on Friday, September 2nd and Monday, September 5th in observance of Labor Day. Our first day for all students will be Tuesday, September 6th. We hope that you enjoy the remaining days of summer and look forward to seeing everyone soon.

A reminder to all students interested in playing football at Chipman. This Friday, August 26th, all players should be dropped off at the back door of the Chipman Gymnasium next to the outdoor batting cage at 4:30 p.m. All players will be turning in their sports physicals, attending a team meeting, and will be getting fitted for their football equipment. All players must bring a bag with them to store their lower football equipment. Any player who does not have a completed sports physical will not be issued equipment. All players should be picked up by 8:00 p.m. Football Practice will begin Monday, August 29th from 4:00 – 6:15 at Chipman.

On Monday, June 6th we will have our sixth and seventh grade awards at 7:45 and 9:00am in the Chipman gym. On Tuesday we will have our eighth-grade awards at 8:00am in the gym. Wednesday, June 8th will be a half-day and is the last day of school for students’ dismissal will be at 10:30am. If students were absent on Friday when we collected laptops, please have them bring their device and charger to turn in this week prior to Wednesday. If your student received paperwork to participate in the At-Bat program this summer please make sure all forms are returned prior to Wednesday, June 8th. Nurse Glanden would like to remind all families that any student with medication in the health office must have their medication picked up by Friday, June 10th at noon. Any medication remaining after this time will be properly disposed of. Just a friendly reminder if your child is not feeling well or awaiting COVID test results, please err on the side of caution and keep them home.
