to be filled by appointment of the Board. This seat will expire on June 30, 2026.
The Board of Education seeks letters of interest, resume and statement as
to why you wish to become a Board of Education member.
Board members must be:
โข A citizen of the U.S.
โข A citizen of the State of Delaware
โข A resident of the District; and
โข Eighteen years of age or older at time of appointment

The members of the Lake Forest Board of Education would like to extend congratulations and gratitude to long time Board member, Mr. Earle Dempsey, who submitted his resignation from the Board during Thursday nightโs Board re-organization meeting. Mr. Dempseyโs resignation is effective July 31st. A true โSpartan for Lifeโ, Mr. Dempsey served on the Lake Forest Board for the past ten years much of the time which was spent as the Board President. Newly appointed Board President Mr. James Rau said, โ Mr. Dempsey has been an invaluable asset to the Lake Forest Board of Education for 10 years, serving as President for the past 6 and leading the District during some very challenging times including a Superintendent search and the COVID pandemic. His leadership and wisdom will be difficult to replace, however the Board is grateful for his dedicated service over the past 10 years and we wish him well.โ Godspeed Mr. Dempsey and thank you for your service to our community!

The Lake Forest Board of Education is pleased to announce they have selected Dr. Brandy Cooper to be the Director of Human Resources for the Lake Forest School District. Dr. Cooper is a true Spartan for Life who has previously served as a math and special education teacher, Department Lead, Assistant Principal, and most recently as the Principal of WT Chipman Middle School. Dr. Cooper also serves as an adjunct faculty member at Wilmington University where she works with Doctoral candidates. Congratulations Dr. Cooper. We wish you continued success and cannot wait to see the great things you will do in your new role!

Tonightโs scheduled commencement ceremony for the Lake Forest High School Class of 2025 has been postponed due to the threat of severe weather. In accordance with our previously scheduled severe weather plan, the commencement will now take place Monday, June 2 at 6 PM at James Blades Stadium. Gates will open at 5PM. We are so sorry for this inconvenience but look forward to seeing you Monday. Have a safe weekend.
