February 15th marks National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day! Please join us in recognizing our Lake Forest School District SROs: Lead/East-Gary Fournier, Central-Benjamin Coverdale, North-Thomas Boyce, LFHS-Dominique Brown, South-Gregory Tamburo & WTC-Todd Michelau. We would also like to recognize Det. Driggins at LFHS and PFC Hacker at WTC. We appreciate the hard work our SROs do every day to keep our students, staff, schools and community safe.

Lake Forest Community Education Foundation (LFCEF) recently awarded over $10K in grants to Lake Forest School District staff members who applied. Some of the grants will assist with field trips, PBIS, reading fluency and comprehension, life skills, summer reading and expose students to various cultures. We appreciate everything LFCEF does for our District.
At our last Board of Education meeting, we recognized our County and State Fire prevention winners from Lake Forest School District. We had twelve students place at the County level and four students place at the State level. Congratulations to all of these students!

Lake Forest School District, along with thousands of others, participated in the 2024 Lewes Polar Bear Plunge. This annual event helps raise money and awareness for Special Olympics Delaware and this allows our students opportunities to promote inclusion and acceptance for all. We are so proud of our Lake community and we hope you will join us next year!

I Love Lake Forest Day will be on Saturday, May 4th, from 10-2 on the Lake Forest High School campus. Our chorus and band will perform, we will have an art tent, petting zoo, DJ, Touch-a-Truck, as well as numerous clubs and community vendors. There will be food and table vendors with items for sale. Mr. Holland's LFHS Life Skills class visited the new Food Bank of Delaware in Milford as volunteers. They worked together to create "backpack" food kits for Delaware students to take home on the weekends. They learned that 1 in 5 students rely on the school- based feeding program for their meals and go hungry on the weekends. These backpack kits will go out to over 150 schools in the state to help these students. Not only are our Life Skills students able to help others through volunteer work, but they are gaining valuable job skills to put on their resume. We are so proud of our students!

Congratulations to the wrestling team for the winning the 2024 Spartan Duals team tournament this past weekend. The team defeated William Penn, Tower Hill, Laurel, Red Lion and Sussex Tech to improve their overall record to 10 wins 0 losses on the year. Congratulations to all the coaches and team members!
